Recording
Solitaire has its own state of the art professional recording studio based in an idilic location in the quiet Irish Countryside.
The studio is used for recording all types of projects including abums and singles, sountracks for movies, and show soundtracks etc etc.
Currently the studio is in use mixing an album for Emanuel Lawlor and the RTE National Concert Orchestra.
The studio has just recently finished the soundtrack for Rhythms of Ireland which was commisioned by an Australian company for a six month tour of Australia.
Late in 2008 six weeks of recording went into making a soundtrack for the multi million pound production of "On Eagles Wing".
The facility boasts a wealth of valve outboard preamps as well as processing by Eventide, Lexicon and TC Electronics and an array of high end microphones. Up to 10 totally seperated recording areas with varying acoustic are also available making a live recording of several musicians at once possible.
The facility just had a major upgrade. Lynx Aurora 16 converters have just been installed to handle all AD/DA conversion. The O2R's have been retired except for one, which is simply for monitoring purposes. Recording now goes from one of our high quality microphones, into a Valve preamp, through the Lynx converters and into the Mac running Digital Performer or Protools 8 HD3 or LE. This insures a pristeen signal path. All mixing and mastering is now done on board the mac using masses of plugin's including waves bundles.
We also just purchased 2 x Neumann U-87, 2 x AKG 414 and another Nemann TLM 103 to add to our mic collection.
